Sikagard®-72 W

SILANE-SILOXANE BASED WATER REPELLENT IMPREGNATION

Sikagard® 72 W is  an  impregnation  for   cementitious, brick & stone cladded substrate to impart water repellency. It impregnates into the open pores of the substrate to stop water absorption maintaining the breathing character of the substrate.

One pack of 1kg covers approximately 30-50 sq. ft in 2 coats depending on the nature and porosity of the substrate and method of application. For theoretical coverage on various substrate refer below table :

Brick Surface

400gms/m2 (2 coats wet on wet application)

Plastered Surface

100gms/m2 (2 coats wet on wet application)
Application steps

MIXING

Pour the contents of the base in the activator and mix the total contents supplied in the combipack.

APPLICATION

Brush or spray apply the mix on the substrate, two coats, wet on wet on the exterior depending on the substrate porosity.

In case of repainting, the new paint can be applied directly on the previously applied Sikagard®-72 W  surfaces after normal surface preparation as per usual practice.

Note: Before applying Sikagard®-72 W  be sure to cover windows and other non-absorbent surfaces properly because the product cures so quickly that it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to remove after a few days. Wipe off any splashes on window panes immediately using soapy water or, if necessary, an organic solvent.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with petrol immediately after use.
