Sika® Antisol® A-1

Concrete curing compound

A curing compound based on aluminised synthetic resin for the prevention of premature water loss from concrete. It is in ready to use form and simple to apply.

Sika® Antisol® A-1 provides the following beneficial properties to concrete surfaces:
  • Reduces incidence plastic cracking
  • Ensures achievement of desired strength
  • Minimises shrinkage
  • Reduces dusting
  • Increases frost resistance
  • Alleviates other costly methods such as hessian-watering, etc

Usage

Sika® Antisol® A-1 is sprayed on to newly laid concrete surfaces to form a thin film barrier against premature water loss. Without disturbance to the normal setting action the concrete is then allowed to cure and achieve maximum properties. Sika® Antisol® A-1 is particularly useful in large areas of exposed concrete such as :
  • Highways
  • PQC roads
  • Runways and taxiways
  • Aprons and hard standings
  • Roof decks
  • Retaining walls
  • Canals etc.

Shelf Life

6 months from date of production if stored properly in undamaged unopened, original sealed packaging.

Storage Conditions

Store in dry conditions at temperatures between +10°C and +40°C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost.

Specific Advice

Remaining Sika® Antisol® A-1 films must be removed prior to application of any screed, plaster or coating on the concrete surface.

Consumption

0.10 to 0.20 kg/m2 depending on wind, humidity and temperature. Actual dosage to be finalised on the basis of site trials.
Application steps

APPLICATION

Sika® Antisol® A-1 has been designed for spray application to the newly laid concrete once the surface water has evaporated. A thin layer of Sika® Antisol® A-1 is then applied to the whole surface using a hand operated spray gun. For large areas application can be done by power driven automatic equipment. Stir well before use. After application the area concerned must be protected from rain for at least 2-3 hours.
