SikaCeram®-935 Floor Leveler Primer

Water based flooring primer for levelling compounds and tile adhesives

SikaCeram®-935 Floor Leveler Primer is a 1-part, water-based, synthetic resin concentrate which is diluted with water and used to prime cementitious and various other porous substrates. It is applied before using cementitious levelling compounds and tile adhesives to mainly reduce absorbency and improve adhesion onto the substrate.

Usage

As a primer for:
  • Reducing absorbency of substrate
  • Improving adhesion on smooth and sound substrates
  • Protecting the substrate against moisture from cementitious levelling compounds or tile adhesives

Storage conditions

The product must be stored in original, unopened and undamaged sealed packaging in dry conditions at temperatures between +10 °C and +30 °C. Material that has been mixed with water must be used within a week.

Waiting time / Overcoating

When applying SikaCeram®-488 Floor Leveler or SikaCeram® cementitious tile adhesives over SikaCeram®-935 Floor Leveler Primer allow:

Times are approximate and will be affected by changing ambient conditions particularly temperature and relative humidity.

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT

Strictly follow installation procedures as defined in Method Statements, application manuals and working instructions which must always be adjusted to the actual site conditions.

EQUIPMENT

MIXING

Low speed electric stirrer (~300–400 rpm)

  

APPLICATION

Brush or roller or suitable spray equipment

MIXING

  1. Shake or stir container before dilution.
  2. Pour into a clean container and mix in the appropriate amount of water.

APPLICATION

  1. Apply primer onto the prepared substrate by roller, paintbrush, brush or suitable spraying equipment (mixing ratio at least 1:1). Ensure a continuous, pore free coat covers the substrate.
  2. Apply second coat of primer on very absorbent substrates.

Note: Avoid puddles on the surface during application.

Note: Confirm waiting /overcoating time has been achieved before applying subsequent products.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
